Reclaim Childhood is excited to announce its selection to the 2021/22 GlobalGiving Girl Fund! GlobalGiving is a nonprofit organization that supports other nonprofits by connecting them to donors and companies. Their Girl Fund is dedicated to supporting nonprofits working towards gender equality around the world, and each year they select a new cohort of organizations to join. Out of more than 100 applicants this year, the RC team was one of five selected.
In a year where the COVID19 pandemic has disproportionately affected women and girls across the world, RC is honored to be a part of this group of organizations selected for their "incredible impact, thought leadership, and commitment to working with local communities.” Donations to the Girl Fund from June 2021-May 2022 will be divided among the organizations to amplify the work we each do.
Check out GlobalGiving’s press release to learn more about the initiative and the organizations joining us in the Girl Fund this year. We’re excited to turn this support into further opportunities to serve girls, women, and communities in Jordan.
About GlobalGiving & the Girl Fund
GlobalGiving is committed to transforming aid and philanthropy to accelerate community-led change. Since 2002, GlobalGiving has helped trusted, community-led organizations from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe (and hundreds of places in between) access the tools, training, and support they need to make our world a better place. Because of their thorough vetting process and broad network, GlobalGiving makes it possible for foundations to target gifts to local nonprofits throughout the world that would be too small for traditional grant processes.
Globally, women and girls have always faced challenging hurdles, from access to education and healthcare to gender-based discrimination, and COVID-19 has only exacerbated these issues. GlobalGiving’s Girl Fund exists to drive funding to and forge purposeful connections among nonprofits advancing local solutions to gender injustice around the world. The Girl Fund is comprised of five locally-led organizations from Argentina to Nepal, that are providing education, legal protection, health care, recreational activities, and access to training and job skills so that women and girls can thrive. Never has it been more important to support high-impact nonprofit organizations working tirelessly to make a gender-equal world reality.
